ITINERARY:
Day 1
We depart Los Angeles for our overnight flight to Tel Aviv.
Day 2
We arrive at Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv where we will be met and transferred to our hotel for overnight. (D)
Day 3
Caesarea/ Meggido / Haifa/ Acre
Today we depart Tel Aviv and drive north along the coastal plain to Caesarea which was the center of early Christians and capital of Judea under the Romans. Visit the archeological excavations of the ancient city, the Roman theatre and aqueduct, here where Paul made his defense before Festus and King Agrippa prior to his final journey to Rome. It was at Caesarea where Pontius Pilate governed during the time of Jesus; where Cornelius, the first Roman centurion, was converted by Simon Peter. Continue to Meggido, identified as the site of Armageddon where the final battle will be fought between the forces of the good and the evil (Rev16). Drive to Haifa for a panoramic view of the Bahai Gardens also known as The Hanging Gardens of Haifa – a UNESCO Heritage Site and the Haifa Bay- Israel’s only natural harbor on the Mediterranean. Visit the ancient city and harbor of Acre. Proceed to Kibbutz Lavi for overnight. (B/D)
Day 4
Tiberias / Capernaum / Banias
After a short tour of Tiberias, we board a wooden boat and sail on the Sea of Galilee, the very place where Jesus walked on the water and where He said to his disciples “Cast the net on the right-hand side of the boat and you will find a catch.” So they cast and then they were not able to haul it in because of the great number of fish (John 21:6). Proceed to Capernaum on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus began His Ministry. See the remains of the ancient synagogue where Jesus preached and the new church built atop St Peter’s house. Proceed to Tabgha, the site of the Miracle of Multiplication where Jesus fed a crowd of 5,000. Visit the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes with its 4th century mosaic floor. See the Church of the Primacy Peter where Peter received his commission from Jesus to “feed my lambs”. Continue to the Mount of Beatitudes, the place where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Drive to the Banias Spring and waterfalls. Return to Kibbutz Lavi for overnight. (B/D)
Day 5
Nazareth / Beit Shean
Drive to Nazareth via Cana - the site of the first Miracle where Jesus turned water into wine at the Wedding Feast. Here wevisit the Church of Annunciation- believed to be the site of Mary’s house where Gabriel informed her that she would givebirth to the Messiah. See the St Joseph’s workshop and Mary’s well. Drive to Yardenit, the baptismal site on the JordanRiver that marks the start of Jesus’ ministry. Continue to Beth Shean, a newly excavated city and visit the Roman theatre.We drive along the Jordan Valley and through the desert to Jericho and view the Mount of Temptation where it is said to bethe place where Jesus was tempted by Satan after fasting 40 days and 40 nights. Continue to Jerusalem for overnight. (B/D)
Day 6
Jerusalem – Old City
We begin the day driving up to the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the city of Jerusalem. We then walk down thehill to Dominus Flevit Chapel, where “The Lord wept” over Jerusalem. Walk along the Palm Sunday road to the Garden ofGethsemane where you will see 2,000 year old Olive trees that date back to the time of Christ. Visit the Church of AllNations, also known as the Church or Basilica of the Agony which enshrines a section of bedrock where Jesus is said to haveprayed before His arrest. Enter the Old City and walk along the VIA DOLOROSA with each station commemorating an eventalong Jesus’ route to crucifixion from Pilate’s judgment hall to Golgotha. Visit the CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE whichcommemorates the hill of crucifixion and the tomb of Christ’s burial. Proceed to Mount Zion to visit The Cenacle whichhouses the “Upper Room” where Jesus and his disciples held the Last Supper in celebration of the Passover. Visit the KingDavid’s Tomb a traditional site holy to Jews, Christians and Muslims. Enter within the walls of the city to visit the Cardo,known as the Street of the Pillars. View the Temple Mount. Visit the Western Wall, also known as the Wailing Wall, is theHoliest Site in Judaism today. Visit the Garden Tomb. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B/D)
Day 7
Jerusalem / New City and Bethlehem
Drive to Ein Karem – the picturesque village which was the birth place of John the Baptist. Visit the Church of Visitation, commemorating Mary’s visit to Elizabeth. Proceed to Yad Vashem, the memorial to the holocaust. Continue to the Shrine of the Book at the Israel Museum where the Dead Sea Scrolls, a collection of historical and religious texts are housed. See the miniature model of the Herodian City of Jerusalem as it was at the time of the Second Temple. Proceed to Bethlehem * to visit the Church of Nativity as it marks the traditional place of Christ’s birth. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B /D)
Day 8
Dead Sea/ Masada
Drive to Qumeran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered inside caves. Visit the ancient city and drive along the shore of the Dead Sea, the lowest point and saltiest place on earth. Time and weather permitting, an opportunity will be provided to float on the Dead Sea. We ascend Massada by cable car. Masada, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is a rugged natural fortress on top of an isolated rock plateau and was the last stronghold held by the Jewish defenders in their war against the Roman army. Visit the excavations, food storeroom, water irrigation system and Herod’s Palace. Experience the grandeur and massive scale of Herod’s mountain fortress. Descend by cable car. Return to Jerusalem for overnight (B/D)
Day 9
Timna /Underwater Observatory / Eilat
We travel south through the Negev desert. Visit Timna and see the copper mines and King Solomon’s pillars and marvel at the huge multi-colored rock formations. Continue to Eilat and stop to visit the Underwater Observatory, one of the world’s largest seaquarium, built into a coral reef. Overnight in Eilat. (B/D)
Day 10
Eilat / Petra
You will be picked up from your hotel in Eilat and drive through the desert highways. Your ultimate destination is the astonishing Red-Rose City of Petra, also known as the “Lost City” for it was hidden in the mountains of Jordan until rediscovered in 1812. A legacy of the Nabatean Empire (an early Arab tribe) who settled in the south of Jordan more than 2000 years ago, it was renowned for its towering structures, pools, dams, and water channels. Petra is famous for its rock-cut architecture, monuments literally carved directly into vibrant red, white, pink and sandstone cliffs. In 1985, the Petra Archaeological Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site and in 2007 it was named as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Several movie scenes from Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade were filmed in Petra.Arrive at Petra and enter through the al-Siq – a narrow passage through the mountains which is dim, narrow and approximately 1.2 km (about 1 mile). Going through the passage can be accomplished by walking or horse- drawn carriage (extra). At the end of this gorge you will be awed by the first view of the Treasury, leaving one breath-taken by its size, color and beauty. Continue into the heart of the ancient city.
After our visit, to Petra, a stop for a sit-down lunch followed by a visit to Moses Spring before leaving Wadi Musa (the new town of Petra). We drive to Aqaba for a short city tour and return to the Arava Border at around 18:00 pm to go back to your hotel. Overnight in Eilat. (B/L/D)

Day 11
Mitzpe Ramon / Sde Boker / Tel Aviv
Depart Eilat via Mitzpe Ramon. Stop to gaze into the Roman crater, a geological wonder. Proceed to Sde Boker and see Ben Gurion’s hut and grave overlooking the magnificent Zin Valley. Stop for a camel ride, a visit to an authentic Bedouin tent and learn about the Bedouin hospitality. Enjoy a light lunch. Continue to Hatzerim and visit Israel’s air force museum to view the planes and equipment and hear the story of this brave fighting force. Drive back to Tel Aviv. (B/D)

Transfer to Ben Gurion airport for departure.
